About The Founder
With over two decades of experience in education, Carrie is a passionate advocate helping K-12 students reach their full potential. Carrie holds a Master’s degree in Education and is a certified educator, which allows her to bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise into every tutoring session.
In addition to her work in education, she is a nationally certified EMT and the owner of a nonprofit that trains first responders on best practices for supporting individuals with autism. Carrie’s commitment to disability advocacy has shaped her career, and she is dedicated to making learning accessible for every student. Carrie is also a proud graduate of Partners in Leadership, further enhancing her leadership skills in both the classroom and the community.
Carrie brings a deep understanding of special education, working to ensure that students with diverse needs receive the support and personalized guidance necessary to thrive. At Roadrunner Tutoring, Carrie combines her passion for education with her dedication to serving others, creating a supportive and empowering environment for all students.

Mrs Gibbons was my third grade teacher in 2003-2004. I still follow her on social media despite moving away as I still find ways to learn from her. She truly is a teacher that teaches from the heart. She’s been doing this for so long it’s become a part of who she is. She started as a natural, and continues down that path. She often worked mini breaks and games into lessons so we could stay focused. I wish more teachers modeled after her.

Carrie was my son’s 4th grade teacher. He struggled with ADHD . She was always patient, understanding and compassionate. She went above and beyond always looking for different ways to keep him engaged. She was always encouraging yet kept him accountable. She definitely was one of his and my favorite teachers.
After my son moved on to the next grade, she continued to help him with anything he needed regarding school work. She tutored him on occasion when needed and also assisted my daughters with different assignments over the years. She has a way with explaining things that my kids all seem to understand and make it click for them. My son is now 30 and we are so blessed to call Carrie a friend. There are teachers who believe in a child and change that child’s life. They see untapped potential and brilliance within a naughty, talkative and mischievous package. They go out of their way to match the child’s curiosity even if that means making extra work packets for them. They make sure the parents know how special that child is and to continue to think outside the box for them. There are teachers that elevate a child and love them as their own. For us, that teacher was Carrie Gibbons. Thank you for being so amazing with my boy. Hard to believe he is in college now. He still talks about you and I know he the adult he is today because you were such an amazing teacher to him.

Mrs. Gibbons was my 4th grade teacher and she is one of the most influential teachers that I remember to this day. She was there for me when I was a new student after returning to that school a year later, and some of the great books we read in class that I read to my kids now, like Charlotte’s Web. I always laughed when she would correct how you would ask a question. Instead of “Can you, it's May I”.
